For my service project, I went to Wales Community park to pick up trash around the pavilion and frolf course. I did this on Sunday, April 27th. I did this because I was made aware of the serious effects of pollution in my environmental science class. At the pavilion, I found a lot of empty cans and plastic bags around the area. By the frolf course, I found a lot of aluminum cans and snack bags. The cleanup was designed to better the community by reducing harmful pollutants to the nature around us, and to make the parks more enjoyable for the citizens. The cleanup was successful for that day, as I swept the area and took care of every piece of trash I could. I was glad to help out our parks, and hope to keep helping the environment around me.
