Lives on the Line
Blaise Lenske

photo.JPGYour child has cancer. This is something that no parent should have to hear. Thankfully there is the Saint Jude's Children Research Hospital. This hospital gives top notch aid to children with cancer and other serious diseases without cost to the parents. In order to keep it running it relies on the donations of others. In my project I organized the St. Jude’s Mathathon for the St. Anthony’s On the Lake school. This project helps raise money and awareness for the children of St. Jude’s. In order make this event successful I had to complete many tasks. Permission slips and arrangements for a presentation with the school had to be set up. While there I told the students about their role in the fundraiser and how important it was. Then booklets had to be ordered and distributed to the students. When complete, donations had to be collected and prizes ordered to give to those who completed their task.

photo.JPGIt was a great opportunity to spread the word about this amazing organization. I learned about the hardships these children go through and how we can help. It was an eye opening experience and we made an impact on the lives of these children with the money we raised.
